Bad Democrat

There are benches on the Santa Monica Pier where you can walk to and sit and look out at the ocean, which is under you. I love it there. It strikes me that a lot of people in LA don’t think to do it when they’re bored. But you hear about the pier when people talk about Los Angeles’s (and Santa Monica’s) assets, and you think, for tourists. It strikes me that a lot of the main assets cities have, they are not thinking to advertise them to city residents who may have ruled them out. And then when they list what makes their city great they go “uh-huh…”
