Dinner with parents

I get dinner with my parents about every two and a half weeks. My dad invites me to go out and I accept. He texts me in between that. What I really want to say to them is that I’m an adult and don’t need to be checked in on on a semi-routine basis. If I were to say this (again), he would reject my boundary and tell me he was doing nothing wrong. Then continue (which he already did, in the past). I don’t understand how being born makes you obligated to the same people for your adult life, whenever and wherever they want to check in on you.
