From WDSU 6 New Orleans: Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill was charged last week with 16 felony counts of malfeasance in office and intimidation.
The charges stem from letters she sent in May to several New Orleans leaders who were involved in the clerk of court decision.
The Louisiana Supreme Court granted an emergency stay in the case about 24 hours after an Orleans Parish grand jury indicted her. In other words, the proceedings have been halted.
All New Orleans Criminal Court judges recused themselves. Some news outlets are saying the case is dead and some are saying it could be years.
It’s not certain yet.
