25 years after the terror attacks of 9/11, American Express has broken ground on a building to be located at 2 World Trade Center. The building will stand in the shadow of the countless lives lost in the faceless attacks on innocent civillians.
The building, which will be 55 stories and 2 million square feet, will be a glass and steel tiered skyscraper with over an acre of square terraces and gardens. The building is scheduled to be complete in 2031 and rise 1,226 feet.
NYC Mayor Zohran Mahmdani said the building is due to create 3,200 jobs and create $6 billion for the city’s economy.
Nothing exists there since the terror attacks took thousands of lives.
The building will be a magnificent world headquarters for everyone to see.
The fallen twin towers left a dent in our country and our people. We will never repair fully, only remember the lost, the fallen, the injured, and the deplete, and repay them in heaven someday. Or right here on earth.
It will be square, tall, and full of harmony as the glass and steel will coexist or even nay match.
The groundbreaking of construction of a tower at 2WTC was designated with a groundbreaking ceremony where NYC legislators held shovels with pebbles to mark the occasion. Both city and state officials participated in this historic event.
I think it marks a new day.
