From MS Now: We asked more than two dozen Republicans on Capitol Hill if they had any disagreements with Trump during his second term. They struggled to come up with anything.

It’s not that every Republican lawmaker thinks Donald Trump has had a perfect second term. But if you ask them about their disagreements with the president, they struggle to name anything. 

It was refreshing cold water to see them report this. Yeah, Democrats complain too much about Trump. I mean many journalists at MS Now, who are conducting the orchestra. Then there’s the reality that most Americans feel this way. Because most of us are genuinely happy with Trump. And we can’t wait to get to the true story about why this is happening in the media and news organizations we follow.

More from MS Now: Sen. Roger Marshall, R-Kansas, said there’s probably something he’d do differently, but he couldn’t think of anything offhand.

“I’m sure there is,” Marshall said. “I’d have to sit there and think about it, and I just can’t think of anything off the top of my head.”

A few Capitol Hill allies offered straightforward answers about their disagreements — even if those disagreements were relatively minor.

Sen. Rick Scott, R-Fla., said Trump should be “way more aggressive on Delcy Rodriguez,” the new leader of Venezuela after U.S. officials arrested Nicolás Maduro and sidelined opposition leader María Corina Machado.

Then there was Rep. Clay Higgins, R-La. “He hasn’t finished the job with Iran yet,” Higgins said, suggesting that Trump “wipe them out.”

“No power, no bridges, no hope of a regime recovery,” Higgins added.

More: Plenty of Republicans said Trump had handled the war perfectly. 

Rep. Higgins: “Some of these guys up here are quite full of themselves, shall we say,” Higgins said. “You know, they have an arrogance to them that most Americans don’t really like. So the president is not the kind of guy who has to tolerate that sort of thing.”

Rep. Buddy Carter, R-Ga., who had no complaints overall, said gas prices will go back down “as soon as this is over with,” and said lawmakers shouldn’t pass a defense authorization bill with any constraints on Trump’s ability to wage war in Iran.

“I’m not going to handcuff the president like that, and I don’t think that would be in the best interest of our country,” Carter said.

Rep. Greg Murphy, R-N.C., acknowledged that, in an agriculture-focused district, some of his constituents “have been affected by the tariffs.” But generally, Murphy said, it’s nothing he “would raise a kerfuffle about.”

“Good Lord, nobody’s going to agree 100% on things with every administration,” Murphy said.

That’s all I have to report about that earth-shattering MS Now story. Refreshing indeed. Couldn’t pick a better story to share. Just nothing.
