Microsoft reported that its Q2 earnings were $48.3 billion, coming in ahead of estimates but not as big as its Q2 earnings of $50.2 billion last year. Revenue was up 18%.
From yahoo! Finance: The company posted adjusted earnings per share of $0.42 for the quarter, exceeding analysts’ expectations of $0.35. Revenue came in at $48.3 billion, ahead of the consensus estimate of $47.51 billion, although total revenue declined 4% from $50.2 billion in the same period last year.
Meanwhile, Ford Motor Company reported better-than-expected Q2 earnings at $48.3 billion, over the consensus estimate of $47.51 billion. Shares climbed 4% as a result. Adjusted earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) increased to $2.5 billion, up $400 million year over year.
I was surprised at the Microsoft news because a few times when I’ve watched CNBC in the last 2-3 months Microsoft shares were down.
Microsoft expects to spend about $175 billion on A.I. infrastructure in 2026 (calendar year) and more than $50 billion during the current Q3, according to Amy Hood, Microsoft’s finance chief, on the earnings call on Wednesday.
