The FBI served federal search warrants on Tuesday for multiple properties tied to San Bernardino County officials. One of the search warrants was for Ontario Mayor Pro Tem Alan Wapner. Wapner sits on the Ontario International Airport Authority Board of Commissioners. (Mayor Pro Tem: a council member asked to serve as temporary mayor)
They also searched Curt Hagman’s home, who is a member of the San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors. FBI officials were seen by ABC7 Los Angeles walking out of the buildings in his house carrying boxes and putting them into their vehicles. Hagman represents San Bernardino County’s Fourth District as a Supervisor, and he is also on the Ontario International Airport Authority Board of Commissioners.
A building in Chino Hills believed to be Hagman’s office was also searched.
Ontario Airport officials told CBS that officials were there on Tuesday with subpoenas requesting documents related to contracts.
From ABC7: FBI warrants were also served in Beverly Hills, where AIR7 captured federal personnel entering and leaving a gated mansion.
The FBI activity in Beverly Hills was connected to the warrants served in San Bernardino County, Eyewitness News learned.
Finally, the FBI executed search warrants at the home of Frank Lizarraga who is an attorney and a trustee at a local university, and they also executed search warrants at EDI Media Inc. — a Chinese American multimedia company.
The Ontario Mayor is calling for the Mayor Pro Tem to resign from his board on the airport board of commissioners.
Both the Ontario Airport and San Bernardino County say they are fully cooperating with the FBI in this investigation.
From CBS: For now the FBI has not identified Wapner or Hagman as targets of this investigation.
According to ABC7, the FBI also submitted a subpoena to the Ontario city clerk’s office, although they did not arrive at City Hall with a warrant.
